I too, thought this was going to be a thread showing a video compilation of the Royal Commission's (Stewart & McClellan) reactions. Because though they appear to be neutral, there are times they just can't help looking stunned and amazed at the testimony they are hearing.
It would be great to get a compilation of that! I do realize the immensity of the task, though. Still, it would be great.

Franz was another victim of this cult, and because he retained a belief in God does not make him an idiot. Wouldn't they begin to wonder if so much attention and glory given to mere men is really acceptable?
I can already hear the JW thinking: Yes, granted the GB are "gifts in men" and thus appointed by Jehovah and are spirit-appointed & directed .... but, they are also imperfect.... So they may make mistakes, yet we are supposed to listen to them anyway because they are led by God's spirit (somehow, it is all very mysterious) and not talk bad about them, because they are our leaders, yet we are not supposed to have leaders, Christ is our leader, yet they are the only ones who can explain Christ's words to us... They have extra secret special spiritual knowledge... Yet they are not infallible... but we are not supposed to speak against them... They may make mistakes but we not to talk about their mistakes, it is all only "eagerness" .... Also, we and they are not supposed to elevate ourselves.... We (and they) are to be humble... Yet there they are, on TV every month & on giant screens at our conventions & assemblies (and KH's soon?) ... Can't talk bad against them,or murmur or complain because then we are complaining against Jehovah, because he has chosen these men.... Yet Jehovah also had bad leaders and kings in the past....
Ugh, I can feel the pain, the churning, the mental dissonance....
But this is good, this can start the beginning of the awakening....
And when they combine that with the exhausting treadmill of boring, gloom and doom meetings and field service and study and busy work, when the rank & file start reading stuff like the entire chapter of Matthew 23 (Jesus' condemnation of the Pharisees), and the entire book of Galatians and hear the CONTINUOUS accusations made against the organization about child abuse and child sexual abuse and cover-ups and families being torn apart, they will hopefully begin to Question and WAKE UP!

My emotions are so mixed up. Almost like my emotions are in a state of cognitive dissonance-- I am happy that this is being revealed, that there is an accounting going on, that these terrible practices & policies are coming to light, that victims of child sexual abuse might finally be heard & helped -- the WTS and its GB are ABHORRENT and its secretive cultish ways are being exposed --
But I am feeling so saddened again that for so long, I & so many others, including these blind, delusional men taking the stand, really believed this garbage, had faith & trust in it, and it is like feeling the pain anew again, that the things you once believed so fervently & deeply are nothing but a sham.... I'm finding that I'm feeling all that disillusionment all afresh again - like the pain and confusion of a little child hearing there is no Santa Clause- like the pain & confusion of a little child who has no adults to comfort or help him or her -
- it's like I'm feeling myself being torn up again at seeing & hearing the faces & voices of these people, these men, the ones whom I used to believe were f***ing glorious ones, our steady rocks & crags in a windstorm, the stars in Jesus' hand, these noble future princes of the earth -- and how they are so unbelievably stupid and crass and without compassion-- and how incredibly naive they are yet how frighteningly biased, arrogant, closed off, and disconnected they are --
This cult and its deplorable, unkind, inhuman practices needs exposing, but it's gonna hurt ....

These guys have done their homework!!! When they speak and ask questions, I am amazed and astounded to hear these "outsiders", these "worldly" people using the language of the JW religion, the terminology, the knowledge of the inner workings and "secret" books....
So very impressive.
And also that they can so easily poke holes into the problems of the doctrines and procedures of these "holy" instructions from Jehovah himself who directs his holy, clean spirit-directed organization.... right....
I do have a feeling of sadness though, that the religion I wasted so much of my life "zealously serving" is such a sham, such a product of bigotry, arrogance, ignorance and hubris...
